THROUGH - DOOOOOR

Teach your dog to walk through your legs. Start with the dog behind you. Wiggle your fingers between your legs in an A. Yell temping: through. Some are taught from front to back for fast recalls and wrapping around to side. Whatever works for you and your dog is perfect. 
When your dog has learned to follow your hands, you can advance by walking over the standing dog, or weaving while your making paces forwards.

Leer je hond tussen O-benen door te lopen. Het best loopt je hond van achteren naar voren onder uw boog door. Wapper met je handen en roep: ‘Doooor!’ Kent je hond het commando dan kun je een stapje verder gaan door zelf achterwaarts en voorwaarts over de stilstaande of bewegende hond te schuifelen. Bouw dit uit naar wendingen waardoor jullie samen in optima forma muziekloos dansen.

PLAY TAG - TIKKERTJE

Feeling elated and foolish. Play tag at home. Chase each other (turn and turn about) from room to room, over the bed or the couch. Get down on your knees and crawl under the table. The dog basket is home base.

Uitgelaten en melig? Doe tikkertje doen thuis. Elkaar om beurten achterna zitten: de ene keer zit jij de hond achterna, de andere keer bij jij de opgejaagde. Over de bank, onder de tafel, Tikkie, jij bent ‘m! De hondenmand is buutvrij.

Chase outside along trees or bushes. A sawed trunk will do as home base.

Buiten kun je in het bos tikkertje spelen. Een afgezaagde boomstam betekent buutvrij.

FUN WITH BALLOONS - BALLON HAPPEN

Materials: lots of balloons, a balloon or bicycle air pump.

Tip: if you blow up the balloon too hard, it will burst sooner.

There are several game versions:

Ball(oon) pit: blow up as many balloons you have. Let the dog play in it.

Volleyballoon: a game for two: you and your dog. Slap the balloon towards your dog. The idea is that the dog returns the balloon to you with his nose.

Water balloon: an outside game for daredevils. Fill special water balloons with water. The dog can snap and burst as many balloons as he likes. Caution: pieces of balloon should not be swallowed.

Search party: hide some chow between the balloons lying on the floor and let the dog seek.

BALLON HAPPEN

Benodigdheden: ballonnen en een ballonnen- of fietspompje.

Tip: Blaas een ballon niet te hard op, dan knapt ie te snel.

volleybal - volleyballoon

Mogelijkheden:

Ballonnenbak: Blaas heel veel ballonnen op en maak er een ballonnenbak van. Laat je hond er naar hartenlust in spelen en happen. 

Volleyballon: mep een ballon richting je hond. De hond tikt hem nu met zijn snuit weer terug naar jou.

Waterballet: een zomers buitenspelletje. Vul de speciale ballonnen met water. De hond mag er zoveel kapot bijten als hij wil. Let op dat de hond geen stukjes ballon inslikt.

Ballonnen en brokjes: strooi voertjes tussen een hoop ballonnen op de vloer. Je hond mag ze zoeken.

MESSENGER BOY - BOODSCHAPPENJONGEN

MESSENGER BOY

Recruit your dog as an indoor messenger boy.

First step. Your dog is familiar with apport.

2. Your dog knows the recipient's name.

3. Write a short message (love you, dinner is served …) on a coaster.

4. Present the coaster to the dog. Ask: ‘hold it!’

5. Send the dog holding the coaster in his mouth to the mentioned person.

First time? Ask the recipient to encourage the dog to come to him or her by calling the dog’s name and/or clapping hands. 

BOODSCHAPPENJONGEN

Thuis kun je interne memootjes door je apporterende hond laten brengen. Handig en leuker als de gezinsleden aan tafel moeten of je wilt laten weten dat je van je partner houdt. Gebruik een bierviltje (of een stevig stukje karton) waar je de korte mededeling opschrijft. Vraag de hond het vast te pakken en naar de ontvanger te brengen. Voorwaarde is dat de hond de naam van de persoon kent. 
Is het de eerste keer dat je jouw hond om een boodschap stuurt? Vraag de ontvanger om de boodschappenjongen aan te moedigen door zijn naam te roepen en/of in de handen te klappen.

SQUARE - RUITJES

Necessities: a door mat with an open pattern of squares, placemat (to lay under the mat), slices of meat sausage.

This is a feeding game for fast eaters. Instead of gobble up the whole sausage at one time, the dog now has to try harder. Ask the dog to sit and wait while you put the slices of sausage in the squares. He learns to be patient and enjoys his food more. Say: ‘ take.’ The dog has to take each part separately. *To make it more difficult: put another doormat crosswise the first which creates smaller openings. Chewing on the doormat is not allowed!

Benodigdheden: een rubberen deurmat met openingen (2 op elkaar om een mozaïek te maken), een placemat of bakpapier als onderlegger, schijfjes hondenworst.

Finished - op!

Een voerspelletje voor ongeduldige schrokkers. Laat de hond toekijken hoe je schijfjes hondenworst in het raster legt. Zo leert hij meteen geduldig op de plaats wachten. Zeg: ´tast toe.’  In plaats van met één tonghaal de worst uit zijn voerbakje te grissen, moet de hond nu moeite doen voor elk plakje.
* Om het nog moeilijker te maken leg je een tweede mat erop en wel zo dat het patroon iets verspringt - de openingen zijn nu nog kleiner. Kauwen op de deurmat is niet toegestaan!
